Artistic Character Modeling in 3ds Max

In this demonstration, we will be looking at creating and developing a sci-fi character. Software required: 3ds Max 2011 and Photoshop.

What you'll learn

In this demonstration, we will be looking at creating and developing a sci-fi character. We will be looking at the process in 3ds Max, working with shapes and modifiers. We will also be looking at materials,the trigging process, and using PFlow for effects. Later, near the end of our demonstration, we will go over rendering passes, painting, and compositing effects in Photoshop. Software required: 3ds Max 2011 and Photoshop.

About the author

Jacques Pena started as a traditional painter and draftsman. In college, he began developing his CG skills and is currently a freelance CG artist and game developer. He also spends time working on his personal book of art, to be published soon.
