In this tutorial, we will learn how to incorporate CG elements into a live action plate using RenderMan for Maya and NUKE. Software required: Maya 2016, RenderMan 20 for Maya, NUKE 9.0.5.

What you'll learn

In this tutorial, we will learn how to incorporate CG elements into a live action plate using RenderMan for Maya and NUKE. We will cover importing our camera tracking into Maya from NUKE and explore all of many different materials and textures available in RenderMan to complete the scene. By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge to create your own CG scene from a live action shot. Software required: Maya 2016, RenderMan 20 for Maya, NUKE 9.0.5.

About the author

Matt Skonicki started out as a Cinematics Artist at Netherrealm Studios working on game franchises including Blitz: The League, Ballers, and Mortal Kombat. He also worked as a Character Technical Artist for John Woo’s Stranglehold and Wheelman. In the last decade he has taught at various institutions including Columbia College and The Illinois Institute of Art. Matt is currently a full-time visual effects instructor at Tribeca Flashpoint Academy located in the heart of Chicago.
