What you'll learn

In this series of After Effects and Photoshop tutorials, we'll learn how to create a visually stunning animation using concept art. We'll look at the different techniques you can use for your animation in After Effects to bring your painting to life. Along the way we'll also be looking at Trapcode Particular and animation basics to create our moving elements such as birds and leaves. By the end of this After Effects and Photoshop tutorial, you'll have learned how to create professional animated scenes seen in popular video games such as League of Legends and Hearthstone. Software required: Photoshop CC 2015, After Effects CC 2015, Media Encoder CC 2015.

About the author

Jonathan Lam is a London based illustrator and graphic designer. His work has developed from a combination of traditional painting/printing techniques and blending it with digital photography and graphic software. With 7 years of experience in the industry, previous clients include Hasbro, Harper Collins, Penguin Books and Google. He is now working on his first video game ‘Eminence: Xander’s Tales’ which was funded by Kickstarter in 2014.
