Creating a Nebula Effect Using FumeFX in 3ds Max

What you'll learn

Throughout these lessons we'll create visually dramatic nebula effect quickly and efficiently. We'll work with FumeFX and learn what to look for in a good effect. We'll also go through some simple techniques using a single simulation and interesting layers to get the passes you need to create a beautiful composition. By the end of this tutorial you will have created a stunning effect as well as learned techniques that can be applied to a number of projects. Software required: 3dsMax 2012, FumeFX 3.0, NUKE 7.0.

About the author

Danielle Romero is currently a Senior FX Artist at Blizzard Cinematics. She is privileged to have worked in film, television, and games on a number of great projects including Star Trek: Into Darkness, After Earth, Cosmos, and Sim City. She graduated from Vancouver Film School in 2008 before which she studied Anthropology and Art at the University of New Mexico and the University of Sheffield. She is also a writer and a traditional artist and lives in Long Beach with her wonderful husband.
