What you'll learn

Throughout these lessons we will create a finished piece of promotional art. We will take it from brief, to conceptualization, to completion using 3ds Max, V-Ray, and Photoshop. We will cover the complete process of designing and planning the illustration, to the execution of the various elements that go into making the final piece. By the end of the tutorial you will have learned how to take a design brief and turn it into a fully realized promotional illustration. Software required: 3ds Max 2014, V-Ray 3, Lightroom 5, Photoshop CC.

About the author

Brendan McCaffrey is an digital illustrator based in Spain. An industrial design graduate from the National College of Art and Design in his native Ireland, Brendan has been working since 1996 producing promotional artwork for games, toys, and products. Brendan has worked for design studios in Ireland, Singapore, and the UK. For the last ten years he has worked independently for a wide variety of international clients including EA, Sega, THQ, Capcom, Microsoft, Nike, and Monster Products.
