    Re: June_08:Nissian Skyline GTR34 V-SPEC

Here is an updated but i think i'm might restart this car. There is a lot of elements that i do not like.

I'm gonna also try a different approach this time. Hopefully it will work out better than my last attempt.

Hold on, you can just tweak it a bit, it's not that bad really. Is it a subdiv? Convert it to poly and start adjusting some of the major curves. I would highly suggest looking up actual images of Skyline for reference instead of using the blueprints. The blueprints are just guides to make the base frame of the car but when it comes to adding those smooth and sharp curves you really don't want to follow the drawings. That's what I'm doing with my car, it's crazy

*Dj assumes i'm using Maya: curves, lofting etc.. hehe* (j/k).

Nah Blender uses sub-d modeling esentially it's like Maya 2008 feature of 1, 2, 3 but its a modifier so once i am happy with the mesh i can just apply the modifier, so its poly with sub-d like May's smooth preview and it would be a sub-d once applied, very old feature.

I do not have curves to play with, which is one of the strength of Maya . However i can extrude vertices and bridge them together.

I'm just trying out different methods to see which i like best. I've checked out the free tutorials on DT their pretty funky but unfortunately i can't apply a lot of it due to the differences in software.

As for the reference images yeah i do try and use them as much as i can but the 'REAL' model is very itimidating (if you get what i mean).

Looking forward to seeing your WIP.

That's why I said to use an application covered by DT Anyhoo, what's similar in both softwares' process is that you're going to find yourself coming back and tweaking some spots over and over until it looks just right, can be frustrating, I've been there o so many times. Well worth the experience though

Yeah its the experience that counts.

Anyways here is the restarted version. I've added the rims and tyres. Still need a few pieces before i can do some final tweaks.

Then its just texture and light.

    First things first:
    Sorry for the lack ofCOMPOSITION.

Anyways i think this will be my final submission for this month, I would love to work on it a bit more but its getting to the end and it was rather frustrating and fun at the same time.

Really nice to actually ALMOST(90%) finish my first 'proper' car for once.

Theres a lot of stuff i would like to fix i'm sure you guys will noticed a lot of mistakes and things lefted out . (Paint job, wipers etc... )

I'm anxious to see what the next month topic is.

    Hope you guys like it.
