four views display (vieport question)

While working on this model i must have hit some button, and now whenever i view all four layout in the view port my mesh is presented as this grey oddly wired mesh. I played with turning on and off a few things and can't seem to get it to go back to normal. I figured before i make it worse i'd ask you guys what i pressed???
