Re: How to create a Character Base Mesh in Mudbox?

Forgive me, I'm fairly new to mudbox and still learning alot about it, however this is my understanding (someone please correct if wrong)

Mudbox does require that you import geometry from another application such as Max or Maya (for example). What you can then do is start to manipulate the model by scultpting it, then subdivide the geometry to the next level to start to build resolution into your scuplture,, however this isn't translated directly as a mesh when you send it back to your 3D app.

If you think about your sculpture as a UV skin for your basic mesh, you have to UV map your basic model in your 3D app then move that to mudbox in order to transfer your sculpture detail back onto the UV map which you can then use in your 3D app.

    Hope that helps
