Question mirroring geometry (Merge vert threshhold issue)

In lesson 22 for mirroring the geometry of the raptor i'm having trouble with the treshhold to keep my points verts from merging into one. When i reduce the thresh hold it effectively splits my vertices up again which is great, however it also splits my mesh down the mirrored axis, ( I have double triple and quadruple checked to make sure the my vertices sit right on top of the origin) Which brings me to another simpler question.....Whenever i select multiple verts flaoting at different points to snap to the origin, maya isn't aligning them its snaping to the average distance of the point or to the nearest or furthest points selected....how do i fix that?

Re: mirroring geometry (Merge vert threshhold issue)

    Hi EchoSeries,
To snap your verts, double click on the Move Tool to bring up the settings. Choose "World" as the axis and turn OFF "Retain Component Spacing" under the Move snap settings. Now try to select and snap the point to the axis. Once done, you can try your mirror again and it should work. If it's still not aligned, you might check the Pivot values in the polyMirror node and make sure they're zeroed out.
