I'm shooting a sci fi film this summer with aliens that have super powers. Live action cg. There's a scene where someone gets hurled into a tree and shatters it.
I have maya, vue, mudbox, 3ds max. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do this.
I constructed a tree in maya and painted with real textures and so forth and mudbox then brought into 3ds max using fracture and kaboom script to shatter it. The problem is it doesn't give a realistic shattering effect like a tree would. It looks more like a rock fracture. I can cover some up with the particles/eletrical type powers they have but not all of it.
