Good Day DT People, I have a problem when I convert an object from polygon to Subdiv. The object is not shaded but the other is shaded. How to back it to normal? what would I click or do? thanks in advance
Any Maya Expert knows the solution? I have attached the picture in the attachements to see what I am talking about.
Some times when the conversion from poly to sub-d fails these are the issues to check .
Some normals may be reversed .
Some polys may not be 4 sided so check for deformed polys eg polys with 3 sides or 5 sides ..
Thanks for the response bravo.. so what should I do to back it to normal and will be shaded?
I would say you should try to reverse the normals.
there is a tool available to show normal direction they should all point out . if one dose not point out reverse the normal on that face only . Don't try to reverse all normals .
I ran into this issue several times too.
It isnīt necessarily that the normals are reversed. Sometimes Maya just removes the assigned material.
So if you assign your material on the mesh again it should be fine - but you can always check your normals too.
Thanks@ Golani'79 I had the same issue.
