The new fiber brush and maya rendering with Mental ray

    Hello
I'm very excited about the new fiber brush and started the new tutorials on that subject. But, I was wondering if it is possible to export that fiber mesh in Maya and have a good result by rendering it in Mental Ray.
    Thank you

Hi umbertovincenzo! Welcome to the DT community! You can export FiberMesh as either guide curves or vector displacement maps. If you're wanting to import them into Maya for rendering then I would think the best way to do this would be to use the guide curves that you've exported from ZBrush into Maya and use them as hair curves.

You can learn about exporting FiberMesh as guides here: http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index....Mesh_as_Guides
And you can learn how you can render your curves in Maya/mental ray once you've imported it into Maya here: http://www.digitaltutors.com/11/training.php?pid=677
