Hey Theiamania! Technically I guess you could set up a few planes in 3D space rotated strategically to give the illusion of a 3D book in After Effects to fake a 3D book, but as After Effects isn't really a 3D program you're never going to get the same level of quality of a 3D object by only using After Effects instead of using a real 3D program. Depending on the complexity of your project, it may save time to actually use a 3D program to achieve this. Is there a specific look you're going for?
Hi Dan,
I understand and i think too is a good idea to realize the book directly in Maya to have a full control. However we can a make a faster job also in AE. In AE my problem i, above all, to understand how give a little big thickness to pages and cover book. Any ideas about?
(Keep in mind that in my actual case, in AE, I'm not interested to have a collapsible pages, but just give a different thickness to cover book and single pages).
Ah! Thanks for the link! Quite honestly, if that's the specific look you're going for then it'd probably be cheapest to purchase the After Effects template to reverse engineer their project to see how they put it together. I see they have a link to purchase it here: http://www.revostock.com/After-Effec...tm?a_aid=27657
