    XSI - next generation game...

Hi, i have a question to ask here...i saw on the tutorial on xsi - the next generation game, and i'm confuse at some part. Well, after generating the normal map and ambient occlusion map, then you apply the constant shader to the character, then the normal map will not apply to the character right? Then by the way, can i just create preview of mental ray then replaced the AO file with the color map? Thanks. By the way, i not really understand why you need to delete the tangent property. well, will it affect other thing after you delete it as before that we use the tangento build the map.

You are right, the normal map won't show up on the constant material. The Constant is for preview purposes - it makes it easier to see the colors and shading of your color map as you are working on it.

Once you have generated the normal map, the tangent cluster created by the Ultimapper is no longer needed. So you can delete it with no problems once you have your normal map.
