    QT is HUGE!!!

My 640x320 (with Audio) file is huge! 625MB. Rediculous.

One of the DT videos talks about checking the "Interleave" check box. He said, "make sure you check it or your file will be huge..." The problem is I can't remember/find the video now. Does anyone know how to get the file size down?

    Hi LoveFest,

This is an easy question to answer, but a difficult question to answer correctly. What are your delivery specs? Who are you delivering it to (TV,Film,Web,YouTube,Vimeo) ? What kind of compression are you using in the Quicktime settings?

    Hi ChrisG,

There is a DT video where the teacher says, "make sure you check this box (something "compression") or you will have huge files." Does that ring any bells? Can you ask the AE instructors?

What are your delivery specs? Who are you delivering it to (TV,Film,Web,YouTube,Vimeo) ?
It's just for a person on their iPad to show people a sample work. But, I'm transferring it across the web. So, I wanted the same kind of high quality of a movie trailer but about the same size file download footprint. When I exported a QT out in AE, I got file sizes from 1GB, 600 MB, (270MB with MPEG4. Quality wasn't so good).

I eventually downloaded the Avid QT Codec for PC.

DT Feature Request: videos segmented with metadata via an embedded script for searching purposes. Either provide the script separately for searching or embed it in the vid in a clever algorithm.

1gb that's massive . Try this open up your render settings select production quality . and render any frame you like and save it out as 800 x 600 png and check the size and quality . You then should be able to create the rest of the frames if its good enough and assemble them in ae .

I don't see those settings. This is an After Effects thread, not Maya with MR.
