hi all! how it's going?
i'm using Maxwell Render, to have lights i apply a texture to a plane (area light) Sphere (Point light) and then activate a emitter to cast light
until there everything is perfect
the issue is that those poly objects i dont need to see them, or their shadows
but i still need their light emission
im posting a link to a pic
showing the example in Cinema 4D
i need to know in Maya by the way.
In Maya, select your object, then open the Attribute Editor.
Select the Shape tab for your object, and expand the Render Stats area.
Uncheck the items you don't want to render for this object. You can turn off Cast Shadows, Show in Reflections, etc.
To not show during the render, turn off Primary Visibility.
Since you're using these as an area light, you may need to keep Primary Visibility on, I'm not sure there. But turn off cast shadows and Receive Shadows.
Hope that helps.
Hi Sazarret! I'm not familiar with how Maxwell handles things, but in Maya you can actually
disable the render stats for geometry regardless what renderer you're using. Here's a quick
video to show where you can do that. I use mental ray in the video, but since the options I'm
changing are in Maya and not within the mental ray renderer, it should work fine with Maxwell
Thank you Dan very much!
because of such a simple issue, i was stucked in my render study
keep doing the good job
Have a nice day.
