    Question ZBrush retopology question

    Hi,

I'm trying to do a retopology lesson. How do I turn on ZBrush equivalent of 'backface culling' (in retopology mode) so I do not see the edges that are behind ? See attachment for clarification.

    I'm using ZBrush 4.

    Re: ZBrush retopology question

    Hi RGU,
Unfortunately, this is an issue with ZBrush 4. Some people have found that modifying the front and back opacity settings under Preferences>Draw lessens the
effect somewhat. It updates as you change the values, so it should be fairly quick to get a look that works if you want to go that route.

    Re: ZBrush retopology question

    Hi Justin,

Thanks for the reply. I also found this workaround on ZBrush forums:

    BACKFACE CULLING PROBLEM

Select the tool you want to retopo
    tool>subtool>append>zSphere
    Select the append zSphere
    tool>topology>edit topology

You have to hide the high poly mesh in order to preview the adaptive skin though. Maybe this helps somebody here though.

P.S Keep up the good work on your tutorials.

Hello, just started with Zbrush, I am working at the cameron tutorial, and I have the same problem, and the answer is not very clear to me.

Pixologic really needs to fix this issue. I am having the same problem with my T-Rex. Retopology is so necessary, and this problem just makes for a huge headache.

    I too have this problem.
Neither of these solutions work for me.
Did an internet search and found that a lot of people have problems retopology problems in ZBrush.
Has anyone found a definitive solution for this?
