Is there a keyboard shortcut that can switch between Zadd and Z sub? I'm not talking about spacebar that brings up the whole menu. Or a way to keep that menu there?

I'm not sure, I don't think so. But i know you can make one. Or alternitivly if you have a tablet you can turn the pen upside down.
How do you make a keyboard shortcut in Zbrush?
Hi DTme,
Very simple to create custom keyboard shortcut in ZBrush.
- Hold down "CTRL" by clicking the tool for example sphere
- Press the key oder combination that you want
- That's it
- If you want to store this go to prefrences>hotkeys>store
Hope that helps
Didn't seem to work. It tells me to "Enable Customize in the Preference Window" so when I do it comes up with a template for a new Menu. If I press Ctrl then the tool it tells me what the tool is about. Do you have other suggestions?
Which version of Zbursh are you using? I think 3 & 3.1 treat hotkeys differently.
I'm using 3, but please give me both instructions because I'm using 3 since earlier Digital Tutors lessons are 3, and only recently is it 3.1. So please provide both??![]()
Hey DTme,
Why you don't update your ZBrush. The update is free.
I already explained above. Digital Tutors uses the other version for most of their past tutorials and the interface with 3.1 looks different from 3. I'm a beginner. So why don't you just tell me how to make a keyboard short cut for both since they are both different. Obviously both versions have their differences if something as simple as making a keyboard shortcut is different.
Download this
- Extract it
- Copy the files (Hotkey_Data folder and HotKeyEditor_verA.zscand) and paste them to ...Pixologic/ZBrush3/ZData/ZPlugs
- Start ZBrush
- Now you will find "Hotkey Editor" under Zplugin
Hope that helps

Here are all the shortcuts in ZBrush

The CTRL worked when I upgraded. Thanks for all the help.
This feature comes standard with ZBrush. To alternate between ZAdd & ZSub simply press the ALT key while sculpting. If ZAdd is on it will ZSub and vice versa.
