  1. Getting To Know Your Character

One of the most difficult aspects for me when creating a new character is to figure out how that character would behave in certain situations. So I've attached a character questionnaire that I've used in the past to help get into the mind of my characters. If you modify it or think of some other great questions to add then please let me know so I can update it. Hopefully it'll help!

The screenshots should explain the process but feel free to let me know if they don't. To find where your files are automatically placed look to these folders:
    • For incremental save files, look to YOURPROJECTFOLDER\scenes\incrementalSave
    • For autosave files, look to YOURPROJECTFOLDER\autosave

It's worthy to note that you can change the directory for your AutoSaves in the options where you set up AutoSave or when ...

I've found I'm not only a lot more productive because I'm not spending time trying to figure out what I need to do next. While this post is focused on organizing ...

  4. From Maya to After Effects: Importing Image Sequences

Here is a brief write-up of how to import a rendered image sequence in After Effects. The screenshots are specifically from Maya to AE but the process is the same as far as AE is concerned regardless of what 3D application you're using. If you're using any other 3D application other than Maya then skip to step 2.

  5. What Do You Want To See?

While I'm all for taking advantage of the cool new blog feature here at DT, I've already got my own blog that is primarily (although not completely) CG-related and post tips/techniques every so often to Twitter. So my initial thought is that if I were to take advantage of the blog feature here it would be something to specifically help the DT community.

So I've decided to simply ask you, the reader of this post and member of the DT community: If I were to start up a blog here what ...
