For this month's project i'll be creating an oriental feel because their pottery have always been fascinating and expensive.

This will also help develop my rendering and texturing technique because they are literally NIL at the moment.

I'll have some wires + setup soon :D hope lots of people will participate this month.

Sounds wonderful. Depends on what kind of oriental pottery you are going for, they differ by region and culture, it'll be lots of fun. You can even hand paint the vase yourself to make it your own, which I would highly suggest :)

Nothing fancy still trying to grasp the rendering and texturing.

Just a little progression, i am trying to buying the Digital rendering and lighting book by Jeremy B.

Also a single vase looked quiet dull so i thought i'd add a set of items starting with a plate.

Unfortunately I haven't got any replies back from the bookstore. They are still ordering it from the US.

I've heard a lot of good things about.

Very nice job, Farla :) The textures are coming out beautifully. That Digital rendering and lighting book looks really informative, good decision.

Sorry for the lack of updates, been wanting to learn too many things did not have to on this project.

Here is the setup and the final render.

Excellent job! :) Beautiful texture as well as display.

Um, is that light gray at the bottom intentional? What is it?

That is the 3D cursor its not a light :D.

Essentially its a 3D cursor where objects will be created when i create them like a pivot point.

I would highly recommend removing it with Photoshop, it kind of disturbs the balanced aesthetics of your render :)

Oh sorry i misunderstood that gray at the bottom is the shadow of the two side metal bars which is holding the display up.

Sorry i thought you meant in the wire :D. (the thing under it).

Just to be sure, we're talking about the light gray on the bottom left corner :) You can also blur that line and it'll look good.
