I'm working through the Digital Tutors Introduction to XSI videos and I'm on the modeling section and making some fan blades for the jet engine.
I have my blade, then I duplicate/instatiate 12 degrees around Z 29 times. So I get a nice duplication of 30 fan blades in a circle. This all works great. The problem comes if I close and save the file, when I open it up again, there what appears to be only 1 fan blade. On closer inspection all 30 fan blades are occupying the same space. They have lost the 12 degree spacing around Z information.
Is there something I need to do to get the fan blades to stay fixed in their positions?
I just opened the base scene again, duplicated the fan blade and then set a key for frame one with the blades in their correct position. Got the same problem again.
I've also noticed that after running the duplicate instanciate tool, if I then click on any other frame they all return to the position of the parent. Even if I set a keyframe.
Anyone have any ideas?
