How would you do such effect where you animate the cracking of the wall? by the way the wall is real footage and the cracks are in cg...Im looking for the effect where cracks gradually spread to the wall.Did i explain it clear? :) Need suggestion on this matter Thanks! :)

Is it a motion shot or a still shot? If it's a still shot it'd be real easy to do by working backwards. In other words, take a picture of a wall that has cracks already and then heal the cracks in Photoshop and then animate a mask of the cracked version over the healed one...

Glad you got it! Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best...no need to overcomplicate things :)

Yup your right there...before i was thinking doing it in Maya and do some dynamics and so forth...but when you said this technique i was laughing to myself and i over think the easiest way or the not so complicated way :)

That's why I asked if it's an animated shot...depending on how much you see, a simple photograph may not hold up so you may need to apply it to a cube or actually model out a few "hero" cracks that can hold up to extreme closeup. All depends on what sort of shot you're going to use.
