Stuck in the Polygon / Sub-D modeling

Hi, I'm having some trouble with the Polygon / Sub-D modeling. I'm trying to make the first foot, but when I try to extrude the first time, ( 4 faces at once) the faces do not stay together and go in seperate direction. Everything else seems to be fine, I reset the Extrude options and I have followed the instructions many times, but I always get these out of control faces.

You have "Keep faces together" off.
Before you extrude, go to "Polygons > Tool Options, and make sure that there is a check beside "Keep faces together". Now you can extrude.
