What do u think is the best hardware for maya.
List what u think can deliver the best performance.
this is my "Ultimate MAYA Machine"

-Video Card ASUS Geforce 6800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16

-Processor Intel Pentium D 820 800MHz FSB LGA 775 Dual Core, EM64T Processor Model

-Motherboard ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

-MemoryCORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory

-Hard Drive Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s

-DVD Burner PLEXTOR Black IDE DVD Burner Model PX-740A/SW-BL

I think that the pentium D is a pretty poor cpu. If you really want the ultimate machine you need to spend big bucks. The best CPU is an opteron 280 or 285 (or 880/885 for 4 way action) and set them up as dual cpus in a tyan k8we thunderbolt motherboard. The best video card woould be a quadro fx 4500. Cheepest place is ebay. As with everything though it just comes down to cash. Im saving up for this one.
