Why 2d textures miss the sides of extruded polygonal paces ?
I made a very nice design with "extrude faces" but the texture doesn't appear on the side faces that were extruded...
Thank you

You first have to find out how the material was applied. Was the material projected onto the surface or was it a normal projection. If it was projected it may not appear as you would expect. I have forgotten the most important part. If it a normal projection then there should be something there that looks somewhat OK unless it has some problems listed below. Check the the normals on the polygons faces and there is always the problem with the UV mapping that needs to be done. Try a automatic first to see what the outcome looks like. Digi Tutors has several video on UV setups.

Your 2d textures are applied to your faces based on their UVs. When you extrude a face, new faces will be made and also new UVs. The extruded face will be alright but the side faces will not have their UVs spread out properly; this is why it looks like the texture is not applied on the side faces.

In order to get good textures applied to polygon surfaces, it is essential that you go through the process of laying out the UVs for that polygon object, especially if you have been extruding faces.
