Hi again,

Ok, I was trying to texture my jean using cylindrial mapping when I realized the uvs are stuck together and pretty hard to see. So I tried to planar map the front and back. But I wanted the front and back to be on the same UV view which is the problem now. I planar map the front then the planar map the back but the front planar of the jean uv disappeared in that panel.

How do I keep the front and back view of the jean in the same panel without cylindrical mapping?. Both sides of the jeans are not the same.

Try Unfolding UVs

try Headus uvlayout. it's a great start for flattening out the uv's then complete final stages in the uv text editor in works great. and yes use relax as well as unfold. also apply checker file tex to your model to get an even spacing( very helpful when you can visualize : ) )

select the front faces, do a planar map on them and move those uv's to the side, then grab the back face and planar map those, then just stitch up the seam where the uv's split.
