I'm rigging a female charcter in maya and I wanted to rig her nametag with the skeleton system. The Question is how can I do that and when she is moving how can I make it into an secondary action?

Can you please post a picture of the nametag? It would be easier to think of a solution if I knew what it looked like. Is it the kind of nametag that dangles across the neck? Or is it pinned to the chest pocket?

I am trying to get the reversed foot to work. Everytime I try and orient XYZ the ankle snaps back abruptly from the ball control joint. When I orient the joint on just the Y axis, the joint does not snap back right away, only when I move the reverse foot side to side. When I try to rotate the ball control, the middle joint on the ankle joint chain does not rotate with it like it should, the root joint of the ankle joint chain rotates and snaps back abruptly when rotated towards the X from the z. Does it matter to have all the coordinates facing the same way and be straight with both the ankle joint and the ball control (and with the whole chain of both)? If I just need to make sure all the coordinates of the joints are facing the same way for both chains, how do I do that? What else could be happening, how could I fix that?

Do you mean you can't attach pictures? Hit th 'go advanced' button at the bottom then scroll down and hit the manage attachments button. Select the pictures with the browse button and then be sure to hit the upload button.

I attached the pictures that way. I was wondering what to do to solve the rigging problem. I thought attaching some pictures would help explain the problem. ( I am bad at explaining in words what's going on.

I just did a test and my attached picture worked fine. Are you sure you are attaching a .jpg image?

i did a print screen and pasted it in a word doc. I uploaded the .doc file in the attachment manager along with sending that last message about the images being attached.

Hello latte maria! We actually have a kit to help you with your foot roll problem. It's our Character Rigging Kit. Here's a link to it:

This should be able to help you with your foot roll problem. I hope you're able to get it figured out. Take care.

BTW, your not allowed to attach .doc files. To post a picture hit print screen then go to start->run and type mspaint. Paste it there and save it as a .jpg.

if you are posting multiple large images (usualy not recomended for forum use unless for renders) you should probibly use something like http:\\imageshack.us\ its free and its external so it dosent suck up the bandwith of the DT servers when posting images.

I also suggest getting something like photoshop if you are trying to learn how to use a program like Maya. The two programs practically work hand in hand. Plus if you want to be in the graphics industry photoshop is hands down a requirment in all areas.

or GIMP, the interface of photoshop (mostly, due to copywrite issues) and the pricerange of paint (its FREE! ) its powerfull but limited and a heck of a lot cheeper than a licens of Photoshop.

just offering alturnitives folks plz dont get mad at me if i seem to be stepping on peoples toes.
