Hi guys!

I was wondering if some of you could help me out finding an answer to that question:
is it possible to use a moving point from 3d tracking data imported in maya as a reference for snapping my particle emitter to it. I mean i want my particle emitter to move following the tracking data reference point (wich is moving too of course)

Thank you very much,

S.

Can you use mel to query the point and set it as the emitter's position?

I can write one up real quick for you in my spare time. But I need a small sample of your file. I'm not sure what data you're dealing with or what else is involved. Who knows, it might be possible to parent the emitter to the data so no script may be necessary.

Hi Sunder!

Thanks for ur' help.
What i'd like to do is to snap a a particle emitter to a tracking data point from boujou in maya.

The project is not started yet, so i have no scene to provide at this time but u can have an idea how the kind of effect that i wanted to achieve (the red Lines) if you go there: http://www.andersschroder.com/# and check the "The Ultimate Fighter 2” Promo - Spike TV. Do u have any idea?

Also it seems that if it work will be great to parent the emitter to the track point data.

Thanks sunder for your support:))
