I rendered 850 frames into jpegs. I put into the rendering window to render from 1 to 1716 with "by frame: 2" on. But, for some reason every two to five minutes i had to move the mouse or it would say "rendering complete. se the maya log blahblahblah for details".
I can't figure out why, i dont think it has anything to do with the monitor because even when it is off it doesn't work!
It took me such a long time and even as the # of frames was cut down it stil didnt work!!!
Please help!!!
Thanks!

You might check your computer's power save properties, and make sure your hard disks aren't set to tun off after a few minutes. No one I have talked to has heard of that particular issue before.

Take youe watch to it and see it its a specific time, then see if it corolates to your power settings. I always have mine set to never (i thingk) cant check right now.

Well, the power and monitor settings are fine, and i still havent tried to time it but as far as i can tell its a problem with maya because before when i made AVI files they cut off all the time...

What does the log say? Does it have anything that might indicate what's going on? I've had something sort of similar happen, but its with both playblasts and renders. I narrowed it down to dealing with free memory. Make sure you have enough memory free, and check your computer's performance in the task manager as it renders. (see task manager example (http://www.danlefeb.com/rendering-process.jpg))
Do you have anything else open while you're rendering? (check the task manager's "processes" tab to see what's running in the back ground, and clear out as much stuff as you can).
