Hey guys. I've bought courses in the past, and most recently I bought the Maya Cloth disc set for a maya class I'm taking in college, the instructor having suggested it for everyone... as the class involves character modeling and animation. Well, the CpClothPlugin will not load at all stating this:

// Error: No valid licenses to load the plugin (CpClothPlugin)

I ordered Maya 2008 Unlimited for Mac OS X and have it installed on my MacBook that I carry to school. I've asked Autodesk and all I get is an email asking me to reinstall. I've done so many times, but never am I able to load this plugin. I've done searches and this appears to be a big problem as many posts have come up, but none even have a single answer, two resulting in the person asking for a refund.

Has anyone here experienced anything similar and might have a clue as to how I'm able to get this plugin to load?

That's the one I bought there. Autodesk isn't being helpful at all. They just say to reinstall it or give me a "**** happens" excuse. A few others that I know are taking the class tried to load the plugin after I showed them how and none of them could get it either. All other plugins load just fine except the vector renderer which that's because the vector renderer was written for PowerPC and I have an Intel Mac.

We're supposed to use Maya Cloth and nCloth in the class and I've bought both CD sets from here for those. Maybe if all of us are having trouble loading the plugin the instructor will just drop teaching Maya Cloth.

I believe that for Maya Cloth to work you needed to have bought Maya before v8.5. For now, you can use nCloth. In many cases, it is a better solution. I also recommend you check out SyFlex educ version as well.
