I used to input dwg file into MAYA 2009 before, but it doesn't work on MAYA2012 now. I am sure that I open the DC plug-in and try dxf, dwg, even trasfer to AI file, there is nothing new in outliner. Is that a problem for MAYA 2012, btw, I am using xp not mac
Hey bigstuped! Welcome to the DT forums! I've never had issues opening DWG files with the DirectConnect plugin in previous versions of Maya, but I haven't tested opening a DWG file in Maya 2012. Beyond that, you may want to try contacting Autodesk directly to see if there are any known issues with DWG files that are as yet fixed in 2012. Keep in mind, though, that there are two types of DWG files. AutoCAD creates DWG files as does Inventor. While they use the same extension, they are not necessarily cross-compatible with each other. So it might be helpful to know what sort of DWG file you're dealing with when contacting Autodesk. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance!
