View Full Version : My spider-sac softbody is not colliding well with fly swatter

I have this model of a spider egg sac egg suspended in light webbing against the corner of a wall. the wall is a passive rigid body, the spider sac is a soft body, the fly swatter a passive rigid body that is moving, colliding with the egg sac.

In theory I want the egg sac to smash up (but not be crushed!) up against the wall, the egg sac to retain most of it's shape but still bend to the shape of the corner of the corner of the wall. As the swatter withdraws, the soft-body egg sac springs back into it's shape and position
.
Problem #1 is that the fly swatter shoots off in the opposite direction when I move the passive body.

Problem #2 is that the collision does not warp the soft body, even though I have called out for the egg sac and the fly-swatter to collide.

Any ideas what I may be missing? I have turned off the history.

Problem #2 - could have something to do with your geoconnector. When you set the collision of the two objects you have to sometimes increase the collision setting to something highter than 200. Try doubling the Tesselation factor and replay the simulation it should now react a bit better not penetrating as. Meaning making sure the shape is better calculated into the simulation respecting its real shape more. In theory you are increasing the tesselation of the object and the simulation should be a bit slower. I hope that helps and does the trick for you.
