This area seems pretty dead, but in case anyone else has started in on "Creating Procedural Rigs and Controlling Motion in Houdini" (highly recommended, BTW), if you've gotten to the 11th lesson, are you seeing scaling issues with the circle that gets copied to the sphere in the prep_motion geo node? It appears to be a problem with my DOP network because if I use Jonah's DOP network and output the sim, after bringing it into the prep_motion node the circle doesn't scale. If I export my sim using the DOP network I made while following along, I get the scaling issue. Can't find any differences between his and mine so am a bit stumped.
Thanks!
EDIT: Happy to say I found the problem. In the DOP network the spheres get brought in through an RBDFracturedObject DOP. By default the Physical/Rotational Stiffness setting is 1. If you set it to 0 (which is his setting), the $PSCALE will remain stable later on when you pipe the output geo into your prep_motion node. I'm not sure why this setting would matter, frankly, but in case this oddity happens to anyone else, have a look at the RBDFracturedObject DOP Physical/Rotational Stiffness setting and make sure it's set to 0. :)
Now I can get back to this very cool tutorial! Hope to see more from Jonah, too!
Thanks!
