I'm trying to network render using 1 satellite. I have it set to port 7103. In the maya.rayhosts file on the master machine I have entered the ip:7103 of the slave machine. When I try to render it says "translating" in the renderview. In the output window it says:
LIB 0.0 info : mental ray for Maya - startup done
MSG 0.0 info : adding new host 1 (colicoid2:7004)
And then Maya freezes up. It doesnt consume any cpu it just sits there until I kill it. Some of the things I have tried:
* Bypassing my router all together by connecting directly to my adsl modem (it has 4 ports).
* Sharing the directory and set the share as my project.
* Connecting to other ports then the correct one give's me an error message but Maya continues with the render normally.
* Both computers can ping each other. I can transfer files normally between them via shared directories.
* My windows firewall is turned off on both machines.
Have I missed anything?
