There is a lot of polygon modeling tutorials that will give you the basics of modeling ,

There used to be a training series on creating female characters , and one on a ware-wolf both covered creating humanoid shapes in polygon modeling . Might be a starting point for you to learn the basics .

But those that you say about creating female characters are from DT? Do you know if they start with just a polygon or with a box? I do not like starting to model bodies with primitives, and also i want the human modeling tutorials to know the flow of the edges.

Thanks a lot for the answer

yes they were DT materials unless they pulled them for being on the old side . they do use a cube as a starting point but you dont have to follow exactly what the video is doing you could use the ref images to set up your planes then start tiling the surface using a polygon plane and the extrude and move into place method .
