Hi, I'm despaired.... this is the last place where to ask for help.

This is my Hypershade

I'm using blinn shader and conecting MR dgs material to blinn shading Goup

There is my Layered Shader . Texture with alpha and color on top. blinn shader below.

When I render I get this

The question is : How I can render my MR shader with texture???
Sorry for my poor English.....
I hope you understand my problem

hi

The layered shader and texture dont work with mental ray which is why someone made the mix8 layered shader thingy for mental ray, i have used it, it works well

here it is

looking at your renders/thumnails why are you connecting a blin into a layered shader, can you not get the result you want without the layered shader???

Hi Muktinish,

Here is what you need to do.

Use a layered texture. I recommend plugging in your "file text texture" as a multiply over your DGS material.

I threw a little test together with screenshots for you to reference. This is something Dt should have went over when they talked about the DGS and Car paint mental ray materials. They did go over it with the mental ray occlusion material though.

The hypershade screenshot shows a "Mental Ray DGS material->Outvalue" mapped into the "layered texture->input2 color". I rendered it with a "mental ray carpaint shader" so ou can see it works with other mental ray shaders as well.

Make sure the texture for your text is set to multiply on input1 for the layered texture.

One last thing. I recommend you input the "layered texture" into a "surface shader" color input instead of a "blinn" like I have here. This way none of you inputs are effected by it.
