Hey you,
iīm pretty new to maya, and right at the moment iīve got a modeling Problem that i canīt fix. Probably itīs easy for you guys =)

Okay, well the Problem is, I started of modeling a torus for a body by creating a cylinder. I deleted the left half because lateron iīll mirror the whole stuff. Well my actual Problem is now, when I try to move one single vertex, the vertex on the otherside moves aswell, .. in kind of a symmetrical way. I donīt know why?

I tryed turning of the Kepp Planer Tool and Stuff, but that wasnīt what I was looking for.

Can anybody tell my, how to switch that of?

Thanks a lot, from the good old Germany,
Tommy

That means that when you mirrored you had the instancing on, which follows the action taken on the original mesh. Duplicate again, but this time go to the Duplicate (Maya 8=Duplicate Special Options) and click on the option box. Select "Copy" for Geometry Type instead of "Instance", or go to Edit > Reset Settings. Apply.
Hope that helps.

hey, thank you for you help. I figured out that, the Move tool has got a reflect option that was for any reason activated.. now it works perfect,
but thanks for you help.

For people with the same Problem:
Modify -> Transformation Tools -> Move [] .... there is a reflect option.
