Hi all.

I have recently completed my first character animation, I modeled and rigged a potato head looking model and animated him :). I am very excited for it to be done and wanted to share with everyone!

I had Digital Tutors kits with me the whole way and I want to say thanks again for putting out amazing kits on rigging and animation in Maya

Let me know what you all think and enjoy.

Haha, wonderful job! Put it on DT Gallery and Youtube. I'd also suggest adding a little bit of fun music in the background. That's gonna complete the short :)

Thank you for all of the positive feedback. Many nights and long weekends have paid off hehe.

Can you put movies on the DT Gallery? Or should I just take stills and put them up?

Where is a place to get some good free music? Like you mentioned, kind of background, elavator music?

Thanks!

You can upload a MPG, AVI, ASF, WMF, MOV to the DT gallery, make sure that you have enabled multimedia for your profile...if your movie doesn't upload that is.

There're tons of websites that offer free music to put in your projects, but you have to follow their rules of licensing, which is pretty easy.
If you're a student, and are not going to use that project for commercial purposes, then you can use 30 minutes or 30 seconds (whichever is the shortest) of a music/song/soundtrack or a movie clip in your project, on condition that you properly cite the source. It's also better to inform the artist. Most of them are cool and easily allow to use their pieces. Hey, it's publicity :)
