Hey everybody in the DT community. I just registered like a few minutes ago because the site is REAL helpful.......and it's shiney :D
Anyway im 16 and have been cartoon drawing for a while until a few weeks ago when i got maya 8. These are some buildings i modelled for a animation movie that i want to complete at the end of 2007.
I welcome critisim and ideas.

how can i create light fog?
i think i remember somethin in the attributes???

Yes, great job for a beginner! :)
I'd suggest rendering with MentalRay's Final Gather (FG). It'll give your scene a photorealistic touch. Light and shadows matter a lot. Even if you're not going for a photorealistic render, definitely try to make the scene look distinctive with the rendering techniques. Keep us posted of your progress.

to create light fog just go to the light's attributes and click the button beside the fog attribute. Check out the free vids on the subject. Note that mental ray doesn't render them very well, you will need to render them in the software renderer, and use render passes if you want the scene rendered in mental ray.

thanks about the light fog, looking pretty awesome but where's this software renderer??

when you go to the render globals, there is a drop down box which lets you select which renderer to use.
