View Full Version : Linking child to parent to keeping together when animating...

Hey all,

I have a set of eyes that move around the screen. I've made a separate set of eyelids that blinking occasionally and moved them into place over the eyes. Then I linked the eyelid models to their respected eye.

Right eyelid to right eye
...and of course...
Left eyelid to left eye

When I play the animation, the eyes still move around the screen, yet the eyelids still stay in place. If I were to move the eyes by hand, the eyelids DO move as expect, but not with the animation already in place.

Any ideas as to how this can be fixed?

Hello Modifier!
It’s a little difficult to tell exactly what’s going on without a screenshot to see how your scene is set up, but here’s a couple techniques you can use to get eyelids to move with eyes in your scene either through verifying that the linking is set up properly in the schematic view or through using a position constraint. Hope it helps!

Hey Dan, I realized that I was linking the eyelids to the eyes...which did not work. But when I linked the eyelids to the eye BONES, then it worked.
