I been work on this project for like 2 months now. I just started to paint weights, and the weights were acting really weird. I looked over my model and all the faces have been double. I've got back and look at the last couple of saves and there are all like this. (MAYA 8)So I did mesh> cleanup and I Think this is were the problem started. It add some tri and double my mesh, I though cleanup was to cleanup mistake like this. Did I mis use or didn't use the wrong tool. I don't to go face by face and delete it's extra face on a 50,000 ploygen model. :frown: It work take forever and I need this finish by the end of the month for work.

PLEASE....PLEASE...Help :help

I know this problem. I had the same one. Luckily I had less polys and could go in a delete the faces manually. What sucks is you can't even merge vertexes to make the faces combine or anything.
Have you tried using the paint selection tool to see if it only select one layer of faces to delete?

This will have to be done manually:(. The clean up tool doesn't do anything useful when used alone, it can identify the problem areas by selecting them but you have to fix them yourself. If you do however choose selection mode and then get the tool to select everything, then if you are lucky and it selects the faces which you don't want you just have to right click on the model and go to faces mode then hit delete. Check out the section on using the clean up tool in this faq for more information, you may want to read the whole thing to help avoid this situation in the future:
