Hi,
I am new to Houdini. I have machine with 6 core processor and 4gb of ram. When I run RBD simulations my computer never shows CPU usage more than 30%. Is there any way to increase the CPU usage while running RBD simulations.

-Thanks

Hey Shilpesh,

I'm here on a dual CPU System (2x Xeon Quadcore), and I'm experiencing the same behaviour. I'm no expert by all means, but I guess that it could be due to serveral reasons:

1) maybe the RBD-Solver is not multithreaded
2) maybe it is just not that processor intens (meaning that there is maybe some harddisk-disk caching or some other stuff going on which needs the processor to wait or so)

For me personally, I don't care to be honest. It works, it is reasonable fast,...why worry :D

Even if some of Houdini internal apps are not multi threaded . It should still use 100% of one core . By the sounds of it is not even doing that .
