Hi,

I've used Real Flow quite successfully before, but I've just started a new job where thye have upgraded to RF4. For some reason, the mesh loader and the particler loader will not load any of my bin files. I've double and triple checked the the *.mel files and *.mll files are the proper ones. The mesh & particle loader scripts appear to work, but I end up with empty meshes or particle objects with zero particles.

When I re-open RF4, it properly loads my bin files, so clearly the problem lies with Maya intergration but I just can't figure it out.

Has anyone ever had this problem?

Thanks,
-dann

Make sure that you're using the proper version of RF4. There're 32 and 64 bit versions. Also make sure that there are no previous versions of RF installed.

Yeah, did all that. Just checked yet agan for thr 4th or 5th time. Went back to Next Limit's download page and re-downloaded. Still cannot bring files into Maya. So frustrating.

Maybe I should just revert to RF3. The software is slow and unstable, but if it's the only way to integrate with Maya...

I would suggest contacting the Next Limit's support instead of AutoDesk. Since you can easily export Maya's SD meshes to RF, and the two loaders show up, it seems there's a glitch somewhere in the RF plugins.

Got it!!! It turns out the Maya plug-ins cannot read a sequence in which the frame padding is set to anything other than the default '5'. I had set the frame padding in my prefs to '3' because it was all I really needed and I hate unnecessarily long files names. However, I just ran a renamer script on my bin files adding the extra zeros and voila! Nice bug. I guess I'll have to let Victor know about that one.

Thanks for your efforts though. They are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for letting us know how you fixed it. I am sure next time if any of us come across this problem we'll know what to do :)
