Hey community!

After a year of learning rigging, i finally decided to create a short demo reel. Nothing big and nothing for use of job hunting. I turned on my PC and was like... "wait a moment, how the hell do i record and create a demo reel for rigging, how did all those nice reels got created?".
It would be great if a training like that would come out. For an animation reel you can use the animation itself, but what about recording a demontration of a character rig?
Use camtasia? Compose it in Nuke, AE, or whatever software? Do it a completely different way?

I'm stuck right now, uncle google also doesn't give me any hints or tutorials.

Hi LearningForLife,

This is a huge topic, but I can give you a few tips. For demonstrating a character rig, I would recommend some sort of screen capture software. Camtasia is a bit steeply priced for this work, but the free software CamStudio is a good barebones screen-capture software. For editing or cutting together your reel, I would use a layer-based compositor or editor like After Effects, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc. Some sort of editing application.
