Hi there,

Being new to Nuke I am having troubles with a small project that I'm doing on my own.

I camera tracked a scene of the highlands using PFTrack and modelled a sign in Maya. In Maya the sign is attached to a tracking locator in so there is no sliding. When I import the Maya image sequence into Nuke, the model of the sign is sliding and does not match the footage. Also there is a video smear at the edge. I've attached a picture of it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi asuen,

It looks like your frame formats are not matching up. Your background plate is 720x480, but your render is being imported at 640x480. You can either use a Reformat node to change your render to the correct aspect ratio and size, or re-render from Maya with the correct size.

We discuss using the Reformat node in this NUKE video tutorial: Creating a stable image to build on (http://www.digitaltutors.com/11/training.php?vid=15415)

Edit: that stretching is when the edge of the bounding box is reached inside the frame. You can use a BlackOutside node to remove the smearing, but it will still be broken because the frame sizes don't match.
