View Full Version : need help in multipass compsite and understanding various passes

Hi I want to know various passes

like what is indirect light pass is it same as Occlusion pass which is often refferred to as Ambient occlusion pass.

What is ID pass beside just that i want to know how to composite various passes l(ike spec, AO, IDPass , depth pass) together , I have been through the DT Multi-channel Compositing in Nuke but i would guess their are still many more passes in nuke , they could have used to composite and taught, like on this page (http://www.creativecrash.com/tutorials/compositing-ambient-occlusion-and-channel-based-lighting--2/page3)

I hope some one help me out with my questions fast...

Hi sanfx,

Indirect light pass is the pass containing the output of indirect lighting like Final Gather or Global Illumination. It's usually added together with the other color passes. ID Pass is essentially alpha channels put into the red, green, blue and alpha channels. You can use these to control various parts of your model in post.

Is there anything specific you want to know about these passes?

can u explain using idpass with some example and

elaborate more on multi channel composite suppose if we have to add specular , AO pass and and depth pass(depth pass with both cases when depth pass render is provided and when depth pass render is not provided)...
