Problems installing maya 8 on media center laptop

Has anyone ever had any problems installing maya on a media center laptop? I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 w/ x1400, 2 Gigs of RAM and an Intel T2400 core duo processor. I keep getting a fatal error; it never even finishes starting up. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like a license issue. Double check to see if it is properly installed. Also make sure that your firewall is open to Maya. If none of these work then contact AutoDesk. They should be able to figure out if it's the software's fault.
