I am trying to correctly rig a tiger model I downloaded, in order to animate its walking to later be used in a unity3d game, however I got into an issue where I need help, I created the bones and are already inside the mesh , then I did apply a skin modifier, and use the technique of setting some weights to 0 and exclude them from the bones that do not have to affect those sections, but Im still having the issue when I move the legs bones, some sections of the body are affected so the mesh deforms . may I get some help with it?
Added url of mesh :

Thanks.

Added the link to the max file, if you see when I try to move the back right leg, the mesh deforms, any guidance on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.

Some time when your mesh deforms it's because the bone or biped is not in the mesh correctly. I could not open your file because i have a lower verison. If you can upload them file to youtube then i MITE able to help you more! i know a bit about rigging but not a lot.
