Hello,
I have a Problem & i think this this is the place i can fetch some help.............I usually like to use viewport BG while modeling stuff in 3ds max.......but when I setup blueprints in 3ds max using viewport BG i.e ALT+B.......it loads the bitmap quite well but the moment I try to zoom in/out in my viewport.......the image gets distorted & aspect ratio is lost............even if my settings are having match bitmap & lock zoom/pan options checked............?? :(

instead of using a viewport image Go into photoshop get the lengh and width of them image. Then go into max create a plane in the front view make the plane the same lengh and width once you have that go into the materail editor assign the image to the material slot using the bitmap and make sure you have the image showing in the viewport.

exit out of the material editor rotate in the p.view if needed select the plane on the go to the object properites tick (check) the see through, now exit out of that now freeze your plane. now you can start modelng
