Hi Qdogg2000,
There are multiple places where plugins can be installed. The easiest way to find it is to open the plugin manager in Maya.
Windows>Settings/Preferences>Plugin Manager
You can see above the list of installed plugins where they are located, on OSX they are typically installed:
Users/Shared/Autodesk/Maya/(version number)/plug-ins,
Users/Shared/Autodesk/Maya/plug-ins,
Applications/Autodesk/(maya version directory)/Maya.app/Contents/MacOS/plug-ins.
To see inside the Maya.app just right-click and choose "show package contents".
***Exercise caution while deleting files from within the Maya.app***
If you do feel the need to change things inside of the Maya.app, the safe way to do it is simply change the file extension to something Maya won't recognize, from .bundle to .bongo. Maya will ignore the file on next launch, it has no idea what a .bongo is.
